I began sharing my work by selling sketches on the street - first in New Orleans and then in NYC, but my first portraits were of lovers and friends. Eventually, I had commissions from street patrons; strangers who bought a sketch would take a picture and return the next day to see themselves drawn. I learned to quickly find the essential marks that bring life to a drawing.

Those are all gone now, but here is Brian - a dear friend from NYC - an example from a series of portraits of men that I have loved.
